ASEANAPOL Secretariat Conducts Financial Audit with Syed Mubarak & Co. Auditors
On 12 June 2026, the ASEANAPOL Secretariat, through the Director for Plans and Programmes, headed by Police Colonel Jean Mary A. Mangahis, conducted a financial audit coordination with Syed Mubarak & Co. Auditors.
The audit was undertaken by Ms. Najwa Shafika, Audit Team Leader, together with Ms. Nur Aqilah and Ms. Amirah Nabihah, in coordination with the Finance Team of the Office of the Director for Plans and Programmes, ASEANAPOL Secretariat.
The activity forms part of ASEANAPOL Secretariat’s continuing commitment to uphold transparency, accountability, good governance, and sound financial management in the administration of its resources and institutional operations.
By strengthening internal financial systems and ensuring compliance with established audit requirements, the ASEANAPOL Secretariat continues to support effective regional law enforcement cooperation and contributes to the broader goal of maintaining peace, stability, and security across the region.

Executive Director of the ASEANAPOL Secretariat, concluded a high-level mission to the Russian Federation, representing ASEANAPOL at the XIV International Meeting of High-Ranking Officials Responsible for Security Matters.
In today's multipolar world, law enforcement faces complex hybrid threats that seamlessly blend modern cyber-enabled crimes with transnational syndicates, spreading at an unprecedented speed.

Bilateral & Multilateral Diplomacy:
Held high-level talks with the Russian Minister of Internal Affairs, participated in Russia-ASEAN Consultations, and paid a courtesy visit to the Thai Ambassador to Moscow.
Strategic Security Panels:
Contributed to specialized roundtables addressing illegal migration and countering radical ideologies.
High-Level Remarks:
Delivered address emphasizing that intelligence sharing and joint operational cooperation are paramount.

The Courtesy meeting held on 21 May 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, chaired by Senior Superintendent of Police Huntal Tambunan together with representatives from the Clear Tail Technology, focused on Strategic Discussion on ASEAN Regional Law Enforcement Cooperation and Technology Integration.
The discussion brought together ASEANAPOL and Clear Tail Technology to enhance regional cooperation in combating transnational and digital crimes through technology integration, intelligence sharing, and capacity-building initiatives.
Key topics included emerging threats such as cybercrime, terrorism, financial fraud, human trafficking, and digital radicalisation. The session also emphasised the role of AI-driven intelligence, digital surveillance, encrypted communication analysis, and cross-border data sharing in strengthening modern law enforcement operations.
Clear Tail Technology shared its expertise in artificial intelligence and big data analytics, while ASEANAPOL highlighted the importance of regional collaboration, continuous training, and enhancement of intelligence-sharing platforms across ASEAN member countries.
The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing to further strengthen cooperation through specialised workshops, technological integration, and sustained capacity-building efforts to support regional law enforcement effectiveness.

On 8 May 2026, the ASEANAPOL Secretariat, led by Police Senior Colonel Dr. Kongkrissada Kittithiraphong together with Police Colonel Mary Jean Mangahis, paid a courtesy call to David “Chip” Gamble at the Embassy of the United States of America in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation in combating transnational crime, particularly anti-scam and cyber-enabled crimes affecting the region. Both parties expressed their commitment to enhancing collaboration and regional law enforcement coordination through strategic initiatives and capacity-building efforts.
The U.S. Embassy also conveyed its support towards the activities of the ASEANAPOL Secretariat, especially the ASEAN Scam Combat Task Force (ASCOT) Project, aimed at strengthening ASEAN’s collective response against online scams and emerging cyber threats.
