Has Public Awareness of AUTISM Increased and How Has It Helped ❔🤔

The answer is YES❕ Public awareness of autism has increased, more and more children are being identified as having ASD at an earlier age. 👼🏻 The awareness helped children with autism to gain access to equal education similar to a normal child. 👨🏻‍🏫 In other words, awareness also means early diagnosis, treatments and positive behavioral support which is crucial for children in the spectrum. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Increased awareness can be translated into increased acceptance. 🥰
In the process we hope that Malaysians will realize that not all people are born the same and that some people are more challenged and have special requirements. 💪🏻 We have to ensure that such people get all the help they need in order to succeed. 🤝🏻

We launched the Autism Awareness Campaign in the hopes of providing better facilities and expanding classes to accommodate more autistic patients. Let's all join together to grow our fundraising efforts so that we can help the community through our donations. 👼🏻

What Will Happen to People with Autism when they grow up?

🤔For many parents of autistic children, the long-term dilemma is who will look for their children when they are gone. 👪❓

🏠To address this problem, NASOM has launched a program to assist young adults with autism in living independently outside of their homes. They've established group houses in which these young adults live with a supervisor. It's an important initiative since it assists adults with autism in becoming self-sufficient. 💪✨

We launched the Autism Awareness Campaign in the hopes of providing better facilities and expanding classes to accommodate more autistic patients. Let's all join together to grow our fundraising efforts so that we can help the community through our donations.

Why the sudden interest in autism? 🤔

There is research from the Centre for Disease Control (CDC) in the United State where they stated that the incidence of autism is at 1 in 68 children. So, it is estimated that 9000 children in Malaysia are born with autism every year. This is a challenge for education services authorities to meet the needs of kids with autism to look for autism intervention programmes.

Nowadays NGOs need to at least double or triple their resources to develop facilities and programmes even though they do not handle more than 1500 children because of the necessary effort that needs to be taken to take care of autistic children. 👩‍👩‍👧‍👧👨‍👨‍👧‍👧
