Setsu Precision Technology M Sdn Bhd

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 👨‍🎓 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴. This became clear during the recent visit by students from Meiji University, Japan to Setsu.

In March, we had the pleasure of hosting 9 graduate and undergraduate students, together with 2 Associate Professors from the Mechanical Engineering faculty of Meiji University, Japan.

The group was in Malaysia for a 3-day study tour organised in collaboration with the 🏫 Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT) at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. As part of their programme, Setsu was one of two manufacturing facilities they visited, the other being a 3D printing factory.

During the session, we shared insights into our design considerations, manufacturing processes, and quality control practices. The discussion also extended to broader industry topics such as US tariffs and their implications, material sourcing and origin, as well as the quotation process in precision engineering.

The students were highly inquisitive, asking thoughtful questions about the operations and technologies behind precision machining. One particularly interesting question explored whether tools like ChatGPT could assist in generating programming codes for precision machining — highlighting how the next generation of engineers is already thinking about the intersection of manufacturing and emerging technologies! 😀

A big thank you 👏 to Mr Kumaresen Perumal and Mr vijay Kumar for guiding the group through the plant and patiently addressing their many questions, and to Ms Malarveely K. for coordinating the visit.

We hope the visit provided the students with a valuable glimpse into real-world manufacturing and a deeper appreciation of the processes behind precision engineering.

𝗔 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗹𝗶 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 🪔✨

We gathered for a night that was anything but work — a chance to celebrate the season and enjoy a different side of life at Setsu. Our Deepavali dinner was filled with colour and energy: lively performances by our colleagues, a cheerful Best Dressed competition, and a beautiful rangoli (kolam) made by the women at Setsu. With great food on the table and a few of our suppliers joining us, the evening was nothing short of vibrant and memorable.

While processes and systems keep Setsu moving, it’s our people who bring meaning, warmth, and spirit to everything we do. The teamwork, creativity, and camaraderie that shone that night are the very qualities that shape who we are as a company.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped plan and organise the event. Moments like these strengthen the bonds that make Setsu more than just a workplace.
