Sticky Rice Travel

The smooth-coated otter is a vulnerable species found from the Indian subcontinent through Southeast Asia. They are one of the largest otters found in Asia weighing up to 11kg and growing up to 64cm in length. As its name suggests, the smooth-coated otter is named for its smooth sleek and short fur. They have short legs and large webbed feet which help with swimming. These adorable otters are easily distinguished from other otter species by their hairless diamond-shaped nose and rounded head. ⁠

Found across the forests of South and Southeast Asia, the Asian Fairy bluebird is a chunky tree dweller growing about 24-27cm tall. Males are unmistakable with their vivid midnight black/electric blue plumage with blood red eyes. Females wear softer shades of dark turquoise with dark wingtips.

The black and yellow broadbill is a striking bird native to Southeast Asia. It has a distinctive black head, white neckband, yellow streaking on its back and wings, rosy pink underparts that fade to yellow. They have a standout bright blue broad and flattened bill thats adapted for its insectivorous diet. It's natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland and montane forests. They are on the smaller side of broadbills ranging from 13-15cm long. ⁠
