"I still have so many unused contact lens cases at home."

Be careful.

Having extra cases is good.

But the real question is:

When was the last time you replaced the one you are using?

What the research shows

A contact lens case can look clean, but microorganisms may still build up inside it.

Some can hide in a sticky layer called biofilm. The longer you keep the same case, the more this layer builds up. A quick rinse may not remove it properly.

So the case you reuse every day may be transferring germs onto the front surface of your eye.

What to do:

Rub and rinse with fresh contact lens solution.
Do not use tap water.
Wipe it, then air-dry face-down.
Replace the case every 3 months.
