🎶 Almost Extinct: Reviving the Songs of the Kenyah Through Music

It was our honour to witness this meaningful performance by the Recorder Ensemble of Kuching Chung Hua Primary School No. 5, celebrating the rich musical heritage of the Kenyah community.

The programme featured three traditional Kenyah folk songs—Belabau, Bampa Lale, and Sayang Dau Kenai Tawai—based on the research of Dr. Chong Pek Lin, with recorder arrangements by Mr. Eddie Chan. The performance concluded with the beloved Malaysian classic Senja Berulang Rindu by Sudirman.

We are grateful to everyone who made this programme possible and hope it has inspired more people to appreciate and preserve the unique musical traditions of Sarawak.
