RECODA’s Project Management Division recently attended progress meetings with the respective consultants for the Miri-Marudi, Marudi-Mulu (Kuala Melinau) and Long Lama-Long Panai Road (MMMLL) Road Project Phase 1, Contract Packages 1 & 2, as well as the Northern Coastal Highway (NCH) Limbang and Lawas sections.

The MMMLL Road Project consists of 42km of JKR R5 road from Miri to Marudi and 100km of JKR R3 road from Marudi to Mulu and Long Lama to Long Panai. The new roads will improve travel safety, provide easier access to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Mulu National Park and connect to the Sarawak-Sabah Link Road (SSLR).

Meanwhile, the 87.96km NCH project comprises three sections in Limbang and two sections in Lawas, with the route starting from the Tedungan Customs, Immigration, Quarantine and Security (CIQS) Complex to the Pandaruan CIQS in Limbang, and from the Mengkalap CIQS to the Merapok CIQS in Lawas.

These two Sarawak-funded mega projects will help establish a continuous direct road network from the southern to northern tip of Sarawak into Sabah, by linking with major routes such as the Pan Borneo Highway and the Sarawak-Sabah Link Road (SSLR), while further strengthening accessibility, economic growth and socio-economic opportunities across the region.

RECODA conducted a courtesy visit to the PUNB Sarawak Regional Office as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration in supporting regional socio-economic and entrepreneurial development initiatives.

As the agency overseeing the development of the SCORE area, RECODA continues to drive development across Sarawak’s major growth corridors while creating opportunities for Bumiputera entrepreneurs to grow and thrive within the regions.

The engagement session provided an opportunity for both parties to exchange insights and explore potential collaborations in entrepreneur development. PUNB also shared its business financing programmes, PROSPER GROW, PROSPER GREAT, and PROSPER IMPACT as well as its Monitoring & Advisory Support services to strengthen business operations and governance among Bumiputera entrepreneurs.

The visit marks a positive step towards strengthening strategic partnerships between RECODA and PUNB, with both parties looking forward to future collaborations in supporting inclusive and sustainable economic growth in Sarawak.

RECODA conducted a working visit to the Unit Peneraju Agenda Bumiputera (TERAJU) office to explore potential areas of collaboration, particularly in facilitating access to financing for contractors under RECODA.

The discussion focused on supporting contractors involved in RECODA’s strategic infrastructure projects, namely the Northern Coastal Highway and the Miri–Marudi–Mulu and Long Panai–Long Lama (MMMLL) Road Project.

Through the collaboration, RECODA and TERAJU aim to strengthen financing access for Bumiputera contractors through initiatives such as BECF, i-WCPF and BSSF, supporting smoother project implementation, stronger delivery capacity, and sustainable socio-economic growth across Sarawak.

RECODA looks forward to advancing this strategic collaboration through future engagements and joint initiatives aimed at expanding opportunities for local contractors and strengthening long-term cooperation between both agencies.

Recently, RECODA conducted a final verification visit for the completed Rain Protection Structure (SPH) and Hydroponic System Project in Mulu, a smart farming initiative under COMMUNITY@SCORE. The project includes the construction of one unit of double dome Struktur Pelindung Hujan (SPH) and one unit pump house structure.

The visit was attended by Mr. Juan Ubit, Regional Director of Highland Development Agency (HDA), and Puan Chong Mui Sia representing the Sarawak Department of Agriculture (DOA).

The completed project is expected to enhance the socio-economic development of the local community in Mulu, as well as within the HDA area as a whole, while strengthening sustainable and progressive community agriculture practices through modern farming systems.
