Fun Fact of the Day: Chee Cheong Fun Edition!
Did you know?
Chee Cheong Fun literally means “Pig Intestine Noodles” — but don’t worry, there’s no pig involved! The name actually comes from the way the rice noodle rolls look — long, soft, and curled like intestines.
Originally a dim sum dish from Guangdong, Chee Cheong Fun has taken on all sorts of delicious local twists in Malaysia — from sweet hoisin sauce and sesame seeds in KL, to curry gravy in Penang, to yong tau foo style in Ipoh!
No matter how you eat it — steamed fresh, pan-fried, plain or loaded with fillings — one thing’s for sure:
