30 Nov 2024 | 🍵 Tea Ceremony Reflection – A Journey of Culture and Connection 🌸

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Tea Ceremony event organized by the Centre for Language Studies UTHM and the International Culture and Language Club (ICLC)! 🌟

Participants had the opportunity to learn about tea culture, its history, and varieties, explore the art of tea preparation, and, most excitingly, enjoy the hands-on experience of brewing their own tea. It was a truly enriching journey into the beauty of this timeless tradition.

A heartfelt thank you to the tea master from Eline Tea Ceremony Centre, Ms Eline, the facilitators from Batu Pahat Rest House, as well as the committee members and participants for your dedication and enthusiasm in making this event a memorable success. Your support brought this cultural experience to life! 🙌

🌏✨ Exciting Cultural Exchange in Parit Bugis Village! On September 7-8, 2023, a Japanese delegation led by Prof. Dr. Masutani Satoshi immersed themselves in Javanese architecture and culture. They were accompanied by UTHM Centre for Language Studies staff, including Hiyama Junko, Yeoh Li Cheng, and Abdul Hadi Bin Abd Aziz, along with the Head of Muar Living Lab, Dr. Nor Azizi Bin Yusoff.
During their two-day homestay with local families, they had the pleasure of savoring traditional Javanese dishes like nasi ambeng.
The visit encompassed explorations of the Traditional Javanese House, thanks to the insights provided by Aliff Ashraf Johar, the Secretary of the Javanese Association in Parit Bugis (PERJAWA). Additionally, they ventured to local cottage industries and enjoyed a lively evening filled with cultural performances. Notably, Japanese participants showcased their talents, including the enchanting Soran Bushi dance!
On the second day, traditional games and cultural activities added to the excitement. It was a memorable cultural exchange that fostered deeper understanding and lasting friendships. 🇯🇵🤝🇲🇾 Centre for Language Studies UTHM
