The debut EP ‘close to me’ from Petaling Jaya alternative/shoegaze act AURUMN is a lush and immersive introduction to the Malaysian underground scene. Across five tracks, the band delivers waves of hazy, reverb-soaked guitars layered with dreamy, ethereal vocals, creating a soundscape that feels both intimate and expansive. Swirling feedback, shimmering delay textures, and melancholic melodies blend seamlessly, balancing softness and distortion in equal measure.

Lyrically, ‘close to m’e explores themes of longing, vulnerability, and quiet emotional turbulence, perfectly matched by its gauzy, immersive instrumentation. Pulsing basslines and atmospheric production give the EP a floating, weightless quality, while the tender vocal delivery adds emotional depth. With this debut release, AURUMN establish themselves as a promising voice in Southeast Asia’s growing shoegaze movement, carving out a hazy yet heartfelt sonic identity.

This CD includes two bonus tracks from their previous singles.
