We recently conducted the Halal Competency training for a well-known hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

The session on 6 July 2026 brought together 31 participants from across the service team and their Internal Halal Committee (IHC). Instead of just theory, we focused on practical, everyday decisions: Halal and Haram basics, critical ingredient sources, the Manual Procedure for Malaysia Halal Certification (MPPHM 2020), and the Malaysia Halal Management System (MHMS 2020). These topics matter because they shape operations, ensure compliance, and maintain guest trust.

Building the IHC’s capability means the committee can confidently handle legal responsibilities around certification and spot risks before they become problems. That’s especially important for hotels, where multiple menus and suppliers increase complexity.
