Such a lovely day spent together in the city (one more is missing because she had to rush to do her internship at ).

Dr Isra is a doctor from Iraq specializing in skin cancer currently completing her PhD. I on the other hand am a trainee counselor specializing in trauma recovery and happiness science, with a degree in psychology and currently completing my masters. We had a good laugh about opportunists who take advantage of our circumstances. We have published several books (mine can be found on ), and especially as a requirement at a research university, we have to create multiple reports as thick as books every single semester. Also as part of my studies, I have had to complete 252 hours of practicum and another 500 plus hours of internship providing free counseling sessions to several clients. I have published four books and all of them are the products of blood, toil, and sweat, with investments of time and money. I earned my international certifications, all of which are investments of time and money too.

At UPM we write three books per semester! How would you feel if you were in our shoes and you were approached to give a talk for free? Or work for peanuts, way below minimum wage (happened to me before, I immediately left the job)? Committing to postgraduate is not a joke, so much sacrifices have been made, including the gazillion times I got sick, no time for friends and family, even for volunteering I just ran to for a few hours and ran back to campus (even that with considering)... and then someone approaches me to work/volunteer for free. 🙄

Knowledge is not free. You want to gain knowledge, you have to pay. This is not some free chit chat session over coffee and tea. Consider this. I'm very sure agrees.
