We are pleased to share the highlights of the Outcome Based Education (OBE) Training 2026, held at Sarawak Maritime Academy (SMA) on 11–12 July 2026.

Organised by the Centre for Continuing Education & Professional Development (CEPD), University of Technology Sarawak (UTS) in collaboration with the School of Engineering and Technology (SET/UTS), the programme provided valuable OBE insights for SMA lecturers.

The Centre for Continuing Education & Professional Development (CEPD), University of Technology Sarawak (UTS), is pleased to announce the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Training 2026, specially designed for the lecturers of Sarawak Maritime Academy (SMA).

The training will be conducted by Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Ling Jen Hua, a distinguished lecturer from UTS, with coordination and support from Mr. Martino Unjan Mohddin (CEPD Officer).

This two-day programme aims to strengthen participants' understanding and practical application of Outcome-Based Education, equipping educators with effective strategies to enhance curriculum design, teaching, learning, and student assessment.

🎉 It's a Wrap! – Carbon Accounting and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventories Leading to Certificate of Practice (CoP) 2026 (Session 1)

The first session of the Carbon Accounting and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventories Leading to Certificate of Practice (CoP) 2026 has officially concluded at University of Technology Sarawak (UTS).

We are delighted to share the highlights from the final day of this enriching three-day programme. It was our honour to welcome the Vice-Chancellor of UTS, Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohamad Shahril Osman, who attended the participants' report presentation session. Throughout the session, participants confidently presented their findings and recommendations, which will be further verified during the next phase with the Lead Verifier on 10–12 August 2026.

The closing day was made even more memorable as we celebrated the Vice-Chancellor's birthday together, followed by a group photo to commemorate the successful completion of Session 1.

A heartfelt thank you to all participants for your enthusiasm, commitment, and active engagement throughout the programme.

We wish everyone a safe journey home, and we look forward to welcoming you back for the verification session in August.

Day 2 | Carbon Accounting & Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventories Leading to Certificate of Practice (COP) 2026

Here's a glimpse of Day 2 of the ongoing training programme at the University of Technology Sarawak (UTS).

Today's sessions focused on data collection and analysis—essential steps in developing accurate GHG inventories and meaningful carbon accounting reports. Participants are working collaboratively to transform data into actionable insights in preparation for their final presentations to the UTS Management tomorrow.

Basic First Aid & CPR Training 2026 - 4th & 5th July 2026

We're pleased to share highlights from the Basic First Aid & CPR Training 2026, organised through the collaboration between the Centre for Continuing Education & Professional Development (CEPD), University of Technology Sarawak and Persatuan Bulan Sabit Merah (PBSM) Sibu.

The training was attended by our Wireman G2 Electrical Engineering students, equipping them with essential life-saving skills while fulfilling one of the requirements for their Wireman Licence application.

The Carbon Accounting & Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventories Leading to Certificate of Practice (COP) 2026 training programme is currently taking place at the University of Technology Sarawak (UTS) from 6–8 July 2026.

Organised through the collaboration between the Centre for Continuing Education & Professional Development (CEPD), UTS, and P2P Talent Sdn. Bhd., the programme brings together participants from across Malaysia to enhance their knowledge and practical skills in carbon accounting and GHG inventories.

📅 2–3 July 2026 | Internal Auditing Training ISO 9001:2015

We are pleased to share highlights from the Internal Auditing Training ISO 9001:2015 held at University of Technology Sarawak (UTS).

The training was attended by UTS staff to enhance their knowledge and competency as internal auditors. Following UTS's achievement of ISO 9001:2015 certification in December 2024, this initiative strengthens the University's capability to conduct effective internal audits and maintain readiness for annual surveillance audits.

The training was conducted by Ms. Siti Nur Hidyah from SIRIM STS Sdn. Bhd.

We thank the trainer and all participants for their commitment towards continuous quality improvement.
