122cm GT for guest , this fish of a lifetime was landed on the first day of a week long trip. Tight drags and heavy leaders makes for a brutal but short fight, meaning we can get the fish back nice and strong after a quick tag.

1156 DAYS in between captures of this Giant Trevally, we originally tagged her in July 2019 with Peter Stewart. She was recaught on the same reef last week by Barry de Beer, although she wasn't measured or weighed before being re-released, it's estimated to have put on about 8kg This is now out 8th GT recapture in the Maputo National Park, and goes to show how important it is to release these territorial bruisers of the reef. They are great candidates for release, as they are poor eating, well behaved on the deck and are a tough hardy species. So great to see more and more people releasing GT's
