I feel compelled to address recent comments by Tim Mayer questioning the FIA’s commitment to diversity and inclusion under President Mohammed Ben Sulayem.

Let’s set the record straight.

🔥 No FIA President has done more for Africa than Mohammed Ben Sulayem.

Here’s what real progress looks like:

✅ Hosted the first-ever FIA Annual General Assembly in Africa — held in Rwanda, a historic and symbolic step toward inclusion.

✅ Appointed Dr. Amina Mohamed of Kenya to the World Motor Sport Council — African leadership at the very top.

✅ Brought Fatma Samoura of Senegal into the FIA Senate — the first African woman ever to serve in this role. A groundbreaking and lasting shift.

💡 But it doesn’t stop there.

Under Ben Sulayem’s leadership, the FIA has expanded its presence across Africa with more sport events, more accessible formats, and innovative, cost-effective solutions designed to double participation in motorsport across the continent.

This is not optics — this is structural change.

🌍 Africa is no longer on the sidelines. We are part of the future of motorsport — and that deserves recognition, not erasure.
