Sheila began her artistic journey at the age of 5 in a cultural association, exploring dance, theater, and poetry. At 17, she led the Artevismo project, using art as a tool to resist gender-based violence.
At 19, she represented Mozambique at the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) in New York, advocating for gender equality on an international stage. Since 2019, she has been teaching dance and leading workshops in schools across Maputo.
In 2020, she joined the Dance Spot academy as an instructor of Afro-House, Hip-Hop, and traditional dance. In 2023, she founded the Cheerleader Project at the French School of Mozambique, promoting self-confidence and teamwork through dance.

Leigh is the director and principal teacher at the Salsa Addicts Dance Studio in Johannesburg, where she has been teaching and performing since 2011.

While her teaching focus is on Cross Body style Salsa and Bachata, her diverse background includes a range of Afro-Latin dances, Brazilian Samba, Ballet, Jazz, Modern Dance and Tap Dancing.

Leigh is a strong believer in continuous learning, technical training, and incorporating her love of history and music theory into the genres she teaches.
