MONUMENTAL STEP: The SixthSense Initiative Achieves Breakthrough in Literacy Advocacy, Revolutionising Education in Ogun State
In a testament to unwavering dedication and visionary leadership, The SixthSense Initiative, under the esteemed guidance of Chief Abiodun Lasile DL MnbR, has etched an indelible mark in the annals of educational history. The latest triumph – Reading is now a Subject in Ogun State schools! – crowns over a decade of relentless pursuit of literacy advocacy.
The journey began in 2015, with a carefully conceptualized path to navigate the realm of literacy advocacy. Chief Lasile's prolific writing career took shape as he penned twenty-three (23) manuscripts, finalised six (6) titles, and published four (4) books within six months. The impact was immediate: three (3) of these titles were approved for examination and reading by the MoEST Evaluation and Curriculum, followed by recognitions from SUBEB, UBEC, and NERDC.
Emboldened by this success, Chief Lasile launched the SixthSense Children Reading Competition Programme in 2017, complemented by the Summer Children Reading Camp a year later. This marked the beginning of a multifaceted approach to literacy advocacy, with ten (10) programmes and concepts designed to ignite a reading culture across society strata.

These initiatives, fueled by an unwavering commitment to 'Our Charge' – Government, School, Parent, and SixthSense – have transformed the educational landscape. "Abinitio, it looked like an onerous task, some academia didn't believe it," Chief Lasile recalls, "but we sustained the advocacy."
Today, the unbelievable is reality: Reading is a Subject in Ogun State schools! This milestone, a testament to the power of focused advocacy, positions The SixthSense Initiative as a beacon of change in Nigeria's educational sector.
Chief Abiodun Lasile DL MnbR, Orunto Baalufe of Owu Kingdom, Abeokuta, and Chairman of Association of Nigerian Authors (Ogun Chapter), expresses profound gratitude to stakeholders for their support. As The SixthSense Initiative continues to champion literacy, this achievement serves as a clarifying moment, illuminating the path for future generations.
