The transgression of Judas was not a betrayal of Jesus but was an unbelief in Jesus. Acts 1:25 (KJV) That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.

30 pieces of silver is equivalent to 30 shekels which is a normal price for a slave in ancient times in the old testament Exodus 21:32, four months income in our modern times 4000 dollars - 12,000 dollars by global standards.

If we say that the transgression of Judas was because he betrayed Jesus then what would we say of Peter that transgressed by denial of Jesus three good times?

what shall we then say of the other disciples that abandoned Jesus and fled during his arrest in what was done by the religious leaders and the Roman government of his day?

Peter transgressed in denial of Jesus
The other disciples transgressed in the abandonment of Jesus in the most terrifying moments of his life and ministry
Judas transgressed in betrayal of Jesus for a 30 pieces of silver.

Peter denied Jesus and became one of the pillars of the gospel, the disciples abandoned Jesus and became leaders of the Church if Jesus, Judas betrayed Jesus and is called the son of perdition.

What changed?
What happened?
Is God partial?
What then is the difference?

They all walked with Jesus for over three years, they had same teachings from the same teacher, they were all involved in the ministry work of Jesus, they lived with Jesus, talked with him, worked with him, saw and experienced the miracles done by Jesus, they even performed miracles with Jesus.

So what changed? What happened? They all had the greatest teachings ever by the greatest teacher under the greatest ministry ever, where the founder died for all the sins of the people he pastored and for the sins of those he never pastored, what a huge ministry of Jesus!

In all of these Judas transgressed not because he betrayed Jesus but because he did not BELIEVE in Jesus,

Are we Pentecostals?

Before we go on to find the bible explanation about the above question, we must understand that there's no answer of yes or no in the bible. Bible topics are explained in order to arrive at the understanding not an answer. You remember what Philip asked the Ethiopian Eu**ch in the book of Acts, " understandeth what thou readest?"

Jesus in the same vein will begin from Moses and the psalms and all the prophets in Luke 24: 27 in expounding or explaining scriptural facts to his disciples.

The pattern of bible explanation cannot be thrown under the bus as teachers and preachers.

There's a reversed pattern in the study and explanation of the bible, just as Jesus will begin from Moses to teach his apostles like Paul and others will equally begin from Moses which is Genesis to communicate truth in their letters in the Epistles. To understand s larger part of truth in the Epistles we must read the Bible backward ie reading what was witnessed in the four gospels and the scriptures to arrive at the revelation.

For instance Paul in Galatians, in trying to teach the circumcision he calls Isaac and Ishmael two covenants, the covenant by faith and of works but when we read Genesis we see two brothers Isaac and Ishmael as a story but the revelation is explained in the Epistles. Paul calls them covenant by faith which is Isaac a product of faith and a covenant of works which is Ishmael a product of works or Abraham's unbelief.

Isaac a representation of faith and Ishmael a representation of unbelief, this also goes to say that they both represents the new covenant and the old covenant, yes I mentioned the new covenant first because the new covenant came before the old covenant, the new covenant is God's plan while the old was man modification from God's plan.

Let's consider the old covenant which began by practice in Exodus, where we have the feast of passover, feast of unleavened bread, feast of pentecost feast of jubilee. CONT'D in comment section.

Facts About The Doctrine Of Sin.

The Blood of Jesus does not cover sin but it cancels sin. Heb 9:24-26, Heb 10:12-14.

Satan accuses us before God through us, Satan does not have a stand before God but our sin consciousness gives him a stand to accuse us before God. Rom 5:1-2, Rev 12:10-11.

The gift of no condemnation is given to us by Jesus and this gift produces the change in our conducts.

Forgiveness is a gift received through faith in Christ finished works.

We do not work to earn forgiveness of sin but Christ worked and earned it for us through his death burial and resurrection and we have received it through faith in his works not our works. Ephesians 2:8, Rom 8:1, Rom 5:1-2, Eph1:7, Rom 10:1-10.
