Look at the God You Know

For me… Bible stories will always be the best-scripted movies ever written.
You can watch them, over and over and never get tired—somehow, they never run out of meaning.
Movie directors still draw from these ancient scenes…
and yet, this Bible script keeps unfolding more.

Growing up, I was that child whose eyes lit up anytime someone said,
“Let me tell you a story.”
Because Bible stories?
They were everything to me.
And honestly… I haven’t seen any writer whose wisdom compares to that of the Holy Spirit.
Not one.

Think of Esther — my God.
A slave girl who rose to become queen…
and not just a queen, but the very vessel God used to save her people.

Or Samson — the strongest man of his time.
My little mind could never understand how his power could dwell inside his hair…
until the animations showed me a man with muscles and long locks of hair,
A destiny tied to his obedience.

I could go on… but stay with me.

Because there’s something stunning I want to show you.

Every Bible story carries a message —
a truth that has survived generation after generation without losing strength.

Like the story of Samaria, where famine raged through the land.
Elijah prophesied that in twenty-four hours, food would overflow…
Flour for a shekel.
Barley for a shekel.
A turnaround so sudden it sounded impossible.
And the king’s officer doubted —
so he saw the miracle… but never tasted it.

Prophecy is the sure word of God.
Even when your faith feels shaky,
stand firm on God's integrity.
Don’t obsess over your limitations —
focus on God’s limitless nature.

So whatever chapter your life is reading right now…
whatever context you’re standing in…

Look at the God you know.
Not the world you don't know.

Selah.

Isn't it amazing how God allows us to go through certain situations — not to break us, but to build us? Sometimes, it feels like everything is falling apart and you begin to wonder, "God, are You even seeing all of this?" But then, when He brings you through it, you realize how much you’ve learned and grown.

You come out of it not just stronger, but with insight and wisdom you didn’t have before. And then one day, someone comes to you with a similar challenge, and suddenly you remember — “I went through something like this.” You’re now able to say, “This was how the Holy Spirit helped me handle it.”

Before you know it, you’re sharing advice, offering comfort, and becoming a source of strength to others — all because you allowed God to take you through and bring you out.

My name is Nessa, and I once lived in ignorance.

I sat in my parlour…
And I was thinking…

About all the times I’ve lived in ignorance.
We did things…
And yet the Holy Spirit—He never walked away.
Never judged.
Never got tired of me.

I used to think prayer was just…
“Ask, and receive.”
Come, drop the list.
Pray for hours.
And leave.

But I didn’t know...
I didn’t know that prayer was supposed to be a journey.
A connection.
A fellowship.
That prayer was supposed to bring me close.
That prayer was about knowing my Father.

I used to think God was just a ruler.
High and far.
Distant and holy.
Sitting on His throne.
And I—just a subject.

I didn’t know…
That this same God could live inside of me.
That I could speak to Him…
Reason with Him…
Lay my matters before Him like a friend.

I didn’t know.

When I say I lived in ignorance,
I mean—deep ignorance.

Reading the Bible felt like punishment.
Like someone flogging me cane.
I avoided it.
I didn’t care.
But now… now I know.

I know that the Word of God—
It’s my lamp.
It’s my life.
It brings light to my darkness.

Living without it?
That’s not living.
That’s dying.

Oh, I have lived in ignorance.
And now…
When I sit in my parlour and remember…
I laugh.

Not because it’s funny—
But because…
God is so merciful.

The Bible says:
“My people perish for lack of knowledge.”
(Hosea 4:6)

And I ask myself—
How many years have I wasted?
Wallowing in ignorance.
Drowning in the absence of truth.

Why did I wait for life to press me so hard,
Before I remembered…
That I have a Father?

But now…
Piece by piece,
He’s rebuilding me.

And the most beautiful part?

There’s no end to knowing Him.

Every time I think I’ve seen all of Him,
He shows me something new.
Every time I think I’ve known enough,
He opens another door.

So I will not stop.
I will not get tired.
Because this journey—
This hunger—
This fire—
Is endless.

I’m just getting started.

🎙️ Title: “While You’re Receiving”

We go to church...
We lift our hands,
We sing,
We fall on our knees.
We hear the Word,
The prophecies,
The declarations...
But do you know,
The devil also attends those meetings too?

Yessss…
While you’re busy receiving,
He’s busy twisting.
While you’re saying “Amen,”
He’s whispering, “Are you sure?”
That’s why sometimes—
After a powerful Word,
You find yourself acting contrary to what you heard.
And then you say,
“Maybe the servant of God didn’t hear well.”
But no, my dear...
He heard God right.
You just didn’t discern the whisper that came after.

See, the devil is cunning.
He won’t stop you from going to church;
He’ll just make sure you misunderstand what you hear.

A preacher once said,
“I was deep in drugs,
But I kept going to God.
Even while I was still into it, I prayed…
And one day,
The addiction broke.”

But someone else heard that and thought—
“Oh, so I can still live in sin and go to God.”
He missed the message.
He didn’t hear redemption;
He only heard permission.
And that’s how confusion grows.

Child of God…
Be on alert.
Stay watchful.
Guard every word you receive.
Because while God is brooding over your heart,
The enemy is waiting—
To sow seeds of disruption.

So next time you’re in His presence,
Don’t just hear—
Be discerning.
Don’t just receive—
Guard what you receive.
Because the Word of God brings life...
Only if it stays guarded.
