Outrage in Imo as Nursing Student Wendy Achumba is Ra.ped, Kpaid Inside Her Lodge

A hear‡bre£aking case of gender-based vi0lence has left the Umulogho community in Imo State in m0μrning after the brμ±al ₹ape and m0rder of 21-year-old nursing student, Wendy Chinwendu Achumba.

According to reports, the prime su$pect, Onyema Okonkwo, alongside his accomplice, Emmanuel Onyekachi, allegedly attacked the student inside her off-campus lodge while she was alone. The s0spects reportedly f0rced themselves on her before kpaing her to avoid being identified.

Okonkwo, who was later captured by angry youths and handed over to the police, conf£ssed in a viral video that the atta>ck had been planned after the v|ctim repeatedly rejected his romantic advances. He admitted that Wendy f0ught back fiercely during the as$ault, leaving visible scratches on his face before the two men overpowered her.

The su$pect further revealed that after the assault, his accomplice sl|t the victim’s thr0at. They allegedly st0le her phone and fled the scene, leaving the young student in a p0ol of bl00d.

The shocking incident sparked outrage across the community, leading local youths to launch a manhunt that resulted in Okonkwo’s arr£st. Police have since transferred him to the State Cr|minal Investigation Department in Owerri, while reports say the second sμ$pect has also been apprehended.

Wendy Achumba was a student of the College of Nursing Sciences, Umulogho.
