I received a courtesy visit from representatives of the Solomon and Mary Lar Foundation at my Abuja residence, led by Hon. Beni Lar. They came to express their gratitude for my role in the 90th birthday celebration of Prof. Mrs. Mary Lar, wife of the first civilian Governor of Plateau State and pioneer National Chairman of the PDP.

I was honored to have been part of this landmark event, not just as a personal supporter but also as the Special Guest representing President Bola Tinubu. The team appreciated my kindness and goodwill towards the Lar family over the years.

In response, I described Mama Prof. Mary Lar as an icon in education and politics, known for her humility, character, and grace. She's a mother figure to many across Nigeria and around the world. I'm committed to supporting the foundation's endeavors, especially as the Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District, including Langtang where the Lar dynasty hails from.

I also assured them that I would facilitate a visit to thank President Bola Tinubu, who has a lot of respect for the Lar family. I'm looking forward to continuing our collaboration and supporting the foundation's initiatives.

I'm delighted to extend my congratulations to Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshewe on his emergence as the new National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

I believe his appointment is a source of great joy and inspiration for our party. Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda brings fresh leadership experience and capacity to steer the affairs of the biggest political party in Africa. As the leader of the APC in Plateau State, I can attest to his suitability for this role, given his vast experience as a technocrat, politician, and public servant.

His rising political profile is a testament to his grooming for leadership and service. His successful previous assignments, including being a University Lecturer, INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Minister of the Federal Republic, and APC Gubernatorial Candidate in the 2023 General elections, demonstrate his visionary leadership qualities.

This new assignment is a great pride for the people of Plateau State, which last held the leadership of a ruling political party during the tenure of Chief Solomon Daushep Lar. I assure Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda of my personal support and the goodwill of the APC family in Plateau State.

I thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, APC National Assembly leadership, APC Governors, NEC Members, and all stakeholders for reposing their confidence in Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshewe to lead our party at this crucial time. I call for prayers for our new National Chairman and assure that the people of Plateau State and the North Central Zone will stand by him in this national assignment.
