I must sincerely commend the swift and professional response of the Edo State Police Command in rescuing the 16 passengers who were kidnapped along the Sobe–Owan Road while traveling with Edo State’s own transport company, New Edo Line today 5th of September 2025. This successful operation is a clear testament to the effectiveness of Governor Monday Okpebolo’s continued investment in security architecture across Edo State.

The prompt action of the police not only reassures Edo people and travelers of their safety but also strengthens public trust in the capacity of our security agencies to rise to the occasion whenever lives are at stake. Indeed, the rescue of these victims underscores the fact that when leadership prioritizes security, the dividends are evident in the diligent delivery of law enforcement operations.

Governor Okpebolo’s proactive measures in equipping and motivating the police and other security outfits are evidently paying off, as seen in this remarkable breakthrough. Edo State is steadily becoming a safer place for its citizens and investors, thanks to this deliberate commitment to protecting lives and property.

This victory should also serve as encouragement to all Edo people that our collective vigilance and support for security agencies remain crucial in the fight against crime.
