As you step out this beautiful Monday morning, hear the word of God as it is written in the book of Psalms 109:1-4, "‭My God, whom I praise, do not remain silent, for people who are wicked and deceitful have opened their mouths against me; they have spoken against me with lying tongues. With words of hatred they surround me; they attack me without cause. In return for my friendship they accuse me, but I am a man of prayer."(NIV). God will not keep silent over those that afflict you and waylay to destroy your life. He will arise and fight your battle for you. God will shut the mouth of the wicked crying over your life. He will shut the mouth of the deceitful speaking falsehood over your life in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ,Amen.

*MONDAY, 17TH APRIL, 2023*

*TEXT: LUKE 10:30-37*

30. _In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead._
31. _A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side._
32. _So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side._
33. _But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him._
34. _He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him._
35. _The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’_
36. _“Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”_
37. _The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.” Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”_

*TOPIC: NON-DISCRIMINATING LOVE II*

Jesus in response to the question on who one's neighbour is gave the parable of the Good Samaritan. The Good Samaritan, though discriminated against did not discriminate against the man that fell in the hands of robbers. Jesus commented his effort of rendering help to a Jew, who was a victim of armed robbery. What a love! This was to serve as a model for non-discriminating love. Today, this kind of love is hard to find in the church. Elections, visitations, helps, and the like are done based on regional, ethnic, economic sentiments. This is unchristian and should be discouraged. The Priest and the Levite did not show love but the Samaritan did. Learn from him.

*REFLECTION:* _Be like the Good Samaritan._

*PRAYER:* _Father, help me to render help without discrimination. Amen._
