Most of my broken relationships in the past were not because I wasn’t loyal, caring, or supportive. No. They ended because my boyfriends couldn’t handle one thing, I said no to s*x before marriage. It wasn’t because I don’t like s*x or didn’t feel the desire, but because I wanted to experience it at the right time, in the right place, with the right person which is my husband.

I’ve always believed that s*x should be a sacred connection, not just a physical act. Doing it under pressure, fear, or guilt isn’t love, it’s compromise. I chose not to sin against God or live with regrets. Yes, it hurt when those relationships ended. I cried sometimes. I asked myself if I was being too rigid. But deep down, I knew I was protecting something more valuable, my peace, my faith, my future.

If you’re reading this and holding on to your values, don’t feel ashamed or alone. The right person will respect your standards and wait with you, not pressure you. S*x can wait, but your peace of mind and dignity must never be compromised.
