Ending malaria requires collective responsibility—from homes to institutions. Prevention starts with simple daily habits like environmental cleanliness and prompt health-seeking behavior.
Clear stagnant water around your home today and commit to testing before treating any fever.

As part of the World Malaria Day (WMD) 2026 commemoration activities, the National Malaria Elimination Programme (NMEP), in collaboration with Nation First Foundation and other partners held a Church Malaria Sensitization Service at The Father’s Church, Jahi, Abuja.
The service featured engaging malaria health talks, prayers for the NMEP team and partners, and a community outreach session. Community members benefited from free malaria testing, treatment for those who tested positive, and the distribution of mosquito nets to help protect families from malaria.
‎This impactful engagement highlighted the critical role of faith-based organizations in the fight against malaria.
‎By using trusted community platforms such as churches to promote awareness, encourage prevention practices, and support early treatment-seeking behavior, faith leaders and congregations become powerful partners in driving community action and accelerating progress towards a malaria-free Nigeria.
