Nowadays, we see something worrying…

Many relationships are built on money, status, and what someone can provide — not on fear of Allah or sincerity of the heart.

Some chase wealth.
Some chase beauty.
Some chase lifestyle.

But very few chase taqwa.

Allah already warned us about this.

> زُيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ حُبُّ الشَّهَوَاتِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ وَالْبَنِينَ وَالْقَنَاطِيرِ الْمُقَنْطَرَةِ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ وَالْخَيْلِ الْمُسَوَّمَةِ وَالْأَنْعَامِ وَالْحَرْثِ ۗ ذَٰلِكَ مَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَاللَّهُ عِنْدَهُ حُسْنُ الْمَآبِ
(Qur’an 3:14)

Allah tells us that the love of desires — women, children, gold, silver, wealth, status, possessions — has been made attractive to people.

Notice… Allah says “to people.”
Not men. Not women.
All of us.

These things are not haram. But they are a test.

The problem begins when money becomes the reason for love.
When status becomes the condition for marriage.
When dunya becomes more important than deen.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

> “A woman is married for four things: her wealth, her lineage, her beauty and her religion. So choose the one with religion, may you prosper.”
(Bukhari & Muslim)

This hadith teaches us something powerful:
Religion must come first.

Because money can disappear.
Beauty will fade.
Status can collapse overnight.

But a heart that fears Allah?
That is priceless.

Real love in Islam is not built on bank accounts.
It is built on taqwa.

May Allah protect our hearts from loving dunya more than we love Him.
