 “The whole Bible was given to us by inspiration from God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives; it straightens us out and helps us do what is right.” 2 Timothy 3:16 TLB.

Many times when we are seated under certain ministrations, as the word comes from the Lord, we often think and believe the word is particularly meant for someone else who probably isn’t in the congregation. Such thought is a deception and it denies us of the full blessings of such message. Every word of God has the ability to teach us, and make us better even when it seems we are at our best.

The particular habit(s) you are struggling with; whatever nature it is, if only you will allow the infallible word of God to do its work in and on you, you’ll be amazed at the tremendous effect it will have. Read and meditate on the scriptures and live out what it says. Remember, you have been empowered, you have all it takes to live right by the presence of God’s spirit that dwells in you.

It’s the Word of God that tells us what is right or wrong, not the culture or our environment. Identify your area of weakness and determine to live out the scripture. God won’t do for you what the word already explained the how to overcome such situation. The Word of God straightens us out and helps us do what is right.

Today I Dorcas, boldly declare that God who began the good work within you(me) will continue His work until it is finished on the day Christ returns.

The Efficacy of The Word 5

 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 KJV

Our attitude towards the Word of God determines the place God holds in our life – The Word of God are not ordinary words, but are the thoughts and message of God to us. It is to be treated like our life depends on it, which in fact it does.

From our anchor text, we must understand that the Word of God is filled with guiding principles and instructions that enables us do that which God requires, aligning us perfectly to know and do the will of God. See this from the Contemporary English Version. God’s word is alive and powerful! It is sharper than any double-edged sword. His word can cut through our spirits and souls and through our joints and marrow, until it discovers the desires and thoughts of our hearts. (Hebrews 4:12 CEV.)

In addition, our text also implies that God’s word is alive, in other words, the word of God is impregnated with the very life of God, it is everlasting and eternal. Much more also, is the spoken word of God which when received is at work effectually in us (1Thessalonians 2:13). Therefore, resolve to stay with the word of God and live by it and see your life changed and transformed.

The Efficacy of The Word 4

Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law. Psalm 119:18 ESV

Throughout Scripture we see the fullness of God. We see His Son and His Spirit at work. We see His heart on beautiful display… His goodness, faithfulness, grace, mercy and love for us. Every page we read is an opportunity to know Him more and become more like Him.

There’s a heavenly exchange that takes place when we choose to diligently pursue God through the reading of the Word. The more we spend time with Him, the more we become like Him. As a result, we ultimately begin to see as He sees. We’ll see people and circumstances differently as our heart is changed, becoming more like Jesus.

Each day we have a decision to make; a commitment to seek God with our whole heart. It’s in the seeking – the breathing in of the heart and voice of God from Scripture – that our eyes are opened in wonder, we gain wisdom and understanding, and we hold fast to His way. This way of living directly influences how we see, love, and respond to the world around us.

The Word of God is alive; a rich store of wisdom and discernment helping us to see, to have focused and clear sight, and as a result, a focused and clear heart and mind!
