NADDC DG Meets Minister of Finance to Push Fiscal Incentives for Nigeria’s Automotive and EV Growth

The Director-General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council, NADDC, Otunba Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin, paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of Finance & Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, on Tuesday, 1st July 2026, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja.

The engagement centered on fiscal incentives and strategic collaboration required to accelerate the development of Nigeria’s automotive industry, with a strong focus on Green mobility promotions, sustainable industrial growth and local component manufacturing,

The NADDC DG seized the opportunity to reaffirm Council's commitment to working with the Ministry of Finance and other stakeholders to create an enabling environment for innovation, knowledge and technical excellence across the automotive value chain.

This collaboration with the Ministry of Finance is critical to making Nigeria competitive in the global automotive space. With the right fiscal incentives and a clear implementation plan, the auto industry can unlock jobs, reduce import dependency, and position Nigeria as a leading hub for Automotive production in West Africa.
