The first of the Ten Commandments, given by God to Moses, is a profound declaration of His supremacy: "Thou shalt have no other gods before me" (Exodus 20:3, KJV). This commandment serves as the foundation of true worship. God demands exclusive devotion, calling His people to reject every form of idolatry. Worshiping other gods or idols is a sin that draws people away from the living God and into falsehood. 1. Graven Images and Idols
People have historically worshiped idols—whether made of wood, stone, or metal—as substitutes for the true God. God explicitly forbids this, saying: “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image... Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them” (Exodus 20:4-5, KJV).

2. Wealth and Riches
Many place their trust in material wealth, valuing it above God. Jesus warns: "Ye cannot serve God and mammon" (Matthew 6:24, KJV). Money, when idolized, becomes a false god.

Conclusion:
The commandment to worship no other god reminds us of the importance of keeping God at the center of our lives.
