STRATEGY OVER SPEED

While in school, I refused to rush my exams. For the first 10-15 minutes, I won't write a word. I’d sit, read every question carefully, plan my answers, and sketch rough drafts. At first, classmates thought I was stuck. But they soon realized it was my strategy. Most times, I finished before them — and with better results.

Friend, you need to prioritise strategy over speed. It is not about being the first to start (1 Corinthians 15:8-10). If you want lasting success, get comfortable with being called “slow.” The future does not belong to the man doing it quick. It belongs to the man doing it right (Mark 10:31).

Don't live under pressure. Don’t rush into marriage just because everyone else is. Don’t launch a ministry to prove you started first. Jesus waited for timing (John 7:1-9). It is better to start late and finish strong than to rush in and burn out (Matthew 19:30).

Strategy beats energy every time. Time spent planning is not wasted. It is invested (Ecclesiastes 10:10). You cannot fix the foundation when you are already at the roof (Psalms 11:3). You need to count the cost and prepare for the long haul.

Activity is not the same as productivity. Not everyone who's busy is into the right business. Don't compare yourself to others. Follow God's pace so you won't lose your peace (2 Corinthians 10:12). I often tell singles that everyone will marry eventually. But don’t rush and regret it later.

One sign that you are in God's will is not necessarily progress. It is peace (Isaiah 28:16). Don't be complacent. But don't also be hasty. Complacency steals time. Haste steals destiny. Learn to move at God's pace so you won't lose your peace. Prioritise strategy over speed (Proverbs 6:6-11). You will succeed.

GOD HEARS YOUR THOUGHTS

During a Sunday night service, a pastor asked the congregation, "Ho2 many of you believe that God can give you a car tonight?” Only one hand went up. He then handed that young man car keys. God had already told him to give someone a car. The young man aligned his thoughts with his prayer.

Friend, God hears your thoughts. What you ask and what you think are both prayer forces that God reckons with (Ephesians 3:20). Since God is a Spirit, He relates more in the realm of the intangibles than the tangibles (John 4:23-24). God will hear your thoughts faster than your words (1 Samuel 1:12-17).

God weighs what you think the same way that He weighs what you ask (1 Samuel 2:3, Ephesians 3:20). Your thoughts are prayer forces that God works with. This is why He says before you ask, He would answer; as you are thinking it, God is doing it (Isaiah 65:24). Always remember that your thoughts are prayer forces in the spirit realm.

According to Philippians 4:6-8, as you make your requests known unto God in prayers, your thoughts must align with the request, or your prayer is going nowhere. Perhaps the reason some of your prayers are not answered is because your thoughts contradict your prayers.

You cannot separate an effective prayer life from an effective word life (Acts 6:4). It is not prayer or the word but prayer and the word. You can only pray effectively when you have successfully renewed your mind with the word of God (Romans 12:1-2).

Like the disciples in Acts 12, your thoughts can contradict your prayer if you don't watch it (Acts 12:13-15). At this point, prayer is just a religious exercise. Don't have prayer in your mouth and unbelief in your heart (Mark 11:23, Hebrews 3:12). Align your thoughts with your prayers!
