Penal fee is fee charged on the approval process for As built structures paid into government account. This fee is 4times whatever the assessment fee of your building is.

So, if your building assessment fee is N400,000, your penal fee would be N1,600,000.

This fee is what the government has removed as long as you process and obtain your building approval within this 90 days amnesty.

The government has granted an amnesty to all owners of As-Built structures in Lagos from the 2nd of May, 2024.

So there would be no reason for not having a building approval after the 90 days period when government officials come knocking.
