AWACIO has been involved in activities relating to HIV since 2011. AWACIO recognizes the need to eradicate HIV/AIDS in Nigeria and worldwide.
AWACIO encourages women, adolescents, and children to be alert and not ignorant of HIV/AIDS. There are steps to consider in the PREVENTION of HIV/AIDS- one important aspect is ABSTINENCE. This prevents at least 75% - 90% of HIV/AIDS. Other preventive measures include:
• Using condoms.
• Not sharing needles or syringes.
• When treating an HIV/AIDS patient be properly gowned and use appropriate gloves.
• Avoid the use of unsterilized shaving or skin-piercing instruments.
