Her Voice Foundation, with support from , is live at AU PANCOGEd in Bujumbura, Burundi.
As Africa gathers to discuss girls’ education, we are standing for teenage mothers and at-risk girls who are too often left out of classrooms and meaningful opportunities to reach their desired future.
Today, 122 million girls are out of school globally, while sub-Saharan Africa records 92 births per 1,000 girls aged 15–19.
These numbers remind us why second-chance pathways matter.
We are here to learn, share, and push for stronger investment in flexible learning, STEAM, TVET, digital skills, and livelihood support for girls who need another chance to learn, grow, and live with dignity.

Lucy became a mother while still a girl herself.
With no income, no qualifications, and little hope for what the future could hold, it was easy to believe that her story had already been written for her.
But a second chance changed everything.
Today, Lucy runs her own fashion business, earns an income, and is rebuilding her life on her own terms. She now believes something she once struggled to imagine: “I can become somebody in life."
Lucy is one of the young mothers featured in our latest documentary, a powerful story of resilience, community-led change, and what becomes possible when girls are given the opportunity to learn, earn, and thrive.
