It just reminded me of my Law of Contract days in my diploma and LLB 2, and honestly, those were simpler times 😄😄. If I had known the kind of contracts people would be asking me about today, I would have paid even more attention in class 😂😂. We were taught that this type of arrangement is a void contract. A void contract is an agreement that has no legal effect, and no party can enforce it. For any agreement to be valid under the law, it must be for a lawful purpose.

Now, when someone hires a “picker” to “pick money” from a “Yankee client,” it clearly points to a fraudulent or illegal scheme. And the moment illegality enters the picture, the law quietly steps back. There’s even a Latin principle for it: Ex turpi causa non oritur actio (“No action arises from an immoral or illegal cause.”)

Meaning, if both parties are involved in illegality, the court will simply step aside. No judge is coming to help anyone recover money lost in an illegal deal 😂😂. And trying to report the other person might even expose your own role in the whole situation, and you already know how that ends 😂😂. So my dear, forget legal recovery. The contract is void, unenforceable, and the law will not save anybody involved.

I really don’t understand the outrage toward Veekee James. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a woman choosing not to depend solely on her husband and deciding to contribute to her home. That is maturity, not “pick me” behavior.

Veekee James is a successful woman. It’s only natural that she supports the household she benefits from. That’s partnership, two people building together, not one person carrying all the weight.

What many fail to admit is that contributing financially doesn’t make a woman less feminine or less valued. It simply shows responsibility. Even if your husband is wealthy, taking initiative in small ways reflects respect, love, and a sense of shared purpose.

Everyone’s mindset evolves with exposure. Some perspectives come from lack, and that’s understandable. But attacking a woman for supporting her own home is unnecessary.
