This client brought her laptop to our office recently, She wanted an operating system upgrade.

She also complained about her battery not backing up and wanted us to check it out.

We checked the laptop to see if it won't be after the Windows Upgrade.


We advised that she upgrade the RAM from 2GB to at least 4GB or higher.

We also recommended she replace the battery.

We told her how much it would cost and she paid.

Her laptop is now as perfect as she wanted and ready for pickup.

Sometimes, people make the mistake of assuming that every laptop with dedicated graphics is the best for video editing (and the like)

Here are a few other things to consider:

1, What generation of Core i5 or Core i7 is the laptop?

Applications like Adobe Premiere Pro won't work as great on a 4th generation or lower core i series as it would on an 8th generation (or higher)

2, SSD vs HDD

A laptop with SSD storage will be 5 - 10 times faster than a laptop with HDD storage if all other configurations are the same

3, Business Class vs Consumer Laptop

Most laptop manufacturers prepare different classes of laptops for different situations

HP Notebook 15, HP ProBook 650 and HP Zbook 15 produced around the same period are not the same even if they all have the same configuration.

One was built with professionals in mind, one for gamers and other heavy tasks while one was built for students, office, and low-budget consumers.

Your laptop is not waterproof!

Your laptop is not water-resistant!

A little spill can do a lot of damage.

For this laptop, it only affected the keyboard. We were able to replace the keyboard and get his laptop back into shape the same day.

Some Clients end up having to replace the laptop motherboard or just buy another laptop.

Take liquid substances far away from your laptop (and other electronic devices).

Your laptop is not water-resistant.
