This is one of the heartbreaking stories received through the JAPA Syndrome.
Before making any migration decision, ask critical questions, verify opportunities, and stay informed. Not every offer is genuine. In some cases, exploitation and trafficking can come even through trusted persons, including family members.
This young girl reportedly refused to engage in prostitution after being trafficked, and the criminal syndicate allegedly subjected her to a horrific ordeal — removing her womb at just 19 years old. It is painful, disturbing, and a reminder of the dangers many young people face in unsafe migration journeys.
At DEDASRI, we encourage everyone to speak up and report suspicious activities, trafficking cases, exploitation, or abuse. Reports can be made anonymously, and where possible, we will provide support, referrals, and follow-up actions.
Together, we can protect lives, raise awareness, and combat human trafficking and exploitation. Advice on safe and legal migration.

Workers’ Day: Safe & Friendly Workplaces Matter
This May 1st, Divine Era Development and Social Rights Initiative (DEDASRI) celebrates the resilience and contributions of workers everywhere. You are the engine of development—we salute you.
Yet, many still face unsafe and unhealthy conditions. At DEDASRI, we believe safe, respectful workplaces are a fundamental right, not a privilege.
We call on employers and government to uphold fair wages, safe environments, and zero tolerance for harassment and discrimination.
To every worker—your labor matters, your rights count.
Let’s build workplaces where safety and dignity come first.
Happy Workers’ Day!

We successfully held a Stakeholders Engagement on the review of IEC materials and strengthening the TIPVAP response in Enugu State at the PPSMB Parliamentary Hall, Enugu.
The engagement was organized by DEDASRI under the STEAP Project, funded by the Government of the Netherlands and implemented by ICMPD in collaboration with NAPTIP, the Ministry of Education, and DEDASRI as the CSO partner in Enugu State.
The event brought together selected SBMC Executives and key stakeholders, including representatives of NAPTIP (South East Zonal Command), the Enugu State Commissioner of Police, the Civil Defence Command, the Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, and the Enugu State Legal Hub, among others.
Together, we reviewed key IEC materials and discussed practical ways to strengthen prevention, improve school-community response systems, and deepen collaboration among stakeholders to effectively address trafficking in persons and violence against persons.
We appreciate the dedication and contributions of all participants towards building safer communities in Enugu State.
