I SEE A CITY.

I tell you a short story...

One day I spoke with a hard face to a family relation of mine

This family member will always reach out to me for money anytime he had a financial need and I'll help him if I have money

On this fateful day he reached out again for assistance and I decided we needed to talk.

I asked him what he thinks I do for a living and how I make money

His answer was that I'm a music minister and a preacher

Gbam!
That was the exact answer I was hoping to get from him

I now asked him if he believed in my music or my preaching

He said "yes."
That he believed in my music absolutely and that he loves it.

I now asked him if he had ever shared my music or sermons or fliers of my meetings on any of his social media platforms(cause I had seen him share many contents of different other people on his platforms)

He knew I already knew the answer...he said NO

I asked him if he has ever attended any of either my worship or preaching meetings. He said NO

I now asked him, "apart from being related to me by blood, what benefit is your life to me and why must you continue to benefit from me"?

At this point he was dumbfounded.

I'm sure some of you are already wondering why I spoke to a family member in that tone, but before you clench your fist at me let's reason together

Every human being - both great and small - on earth has an interest, including you that is reading this post. And we all tilt in the direction of our interests.

The reason we keep friends or relationships is because of INTERESTS

Your family and friends look out for your interests and you also look out for theirs

Most times interests defy even blood connections

This is not to damage or insult your theology of God's love for His children, but even as God's children, He has expectations(interests) that He wants us to meet. And many Christians have enjoyed many beautiful things from God above others because they met His interests

Forinstance, you meet God's interests when you pray, when you live holy, when you win souls, when you study His word, when you give to His work etc

So why should you expect to get things from people who are in your life without thinking of contributing to theirs?

Some of you reading this post pay strangers lots of money for things you expect your friends and family members to do for you for free

It is true: a prophet has honour, except in his hometown, abi?

I know that there are people you should help without expecting anything from, but there are those who MUST prove they deserve what you have

Jesus knew why He said to the woman who came seeking healing for her child that the children's meat can not be given to dogs(outsiders).
Guess what? Every child or friend of the house knows they have a responsibility for the house they belong

It is not kindness or humility to keep sacrificing for people who don't believe in you, or support you, or identify with what you do yet expect to benefit from it.

It is not ungodliness or selfishness to wait and see LOYALTY before you wear some people the robe of ROYALTY

By the way, it is who supports you that is family, not necessarily those related to you by blood

Blood is thicker than water, but loyalty is thicker than blood

They don't believe that God still loves you regardless...

They don't believe that God will still help you

They are wondering in disbelief why God is still showing you His favour and glory

Unbelievers are not necessarily sinners or people who don't believe in God
They are also people who don't believe in you

Unbelievers are people who believe you will FAIL in life unfailingly

They don't even believe they will succeed as much as they believe you will fail

When your name is mentioned, they wish it is for ev!l.

Hate is so strong that it makes someone who hates you believe that God hates you too

May those waiting to see you fail wait forever!
