: The Ad-hoc Technical Committee on Street Naming and House Numbering (SNHN) in Gombe State, led by Dr. Isa Ibrahim Jalo (Wazirin Gombe) earlier today convened a strategic meeting focused on the review and harmonization of proposed street names for onward presentation and approval by His Excellency, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
The meeting carefully examined submissions and recommendations from the Technical Naming and Technical GIS Sub-Committees to ensure that all proposed nomenclatures align with established urban planning standards, cultural heritage, historical relevance, and GIS-based addressing principles.
Deliberations also emphasized the need for inclusiveness, uniqueness, and preservation of indigenous identity in the naming process, while ensuring that proposed names reflect notable personalities, national values, historical contributions, and community heritage.
The Committee assured its commitment to developing a modern, organized, and globally aligned addressing system that will enhance navigation, urban governance, security coordination, emergency response, and efficient service delivery across Gombe State.

: GIS Field Officers Continue Carrying Out Preliminary Data Collection for Street Naming and House Numbering
Earlier today, GIS Field Officers under the Committee on Street Naming and House Numbering in Gombe State carried out a preliminary field exercise across selected locations within the State as part of preparatory activities towards the implementation of the proposed street naming and house numbering exercise.
During the exercise, the officers navigated through streets and communities to obtain vital records, spatial data, and other relevant information necessary to support accurate street identification and house numbering across the State.
This project is in line with the commitment of the Executive Governor of Gombe State, His Excellency, (Dr) Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON (Danmajen Gombe), towards strengthening urban planning, enhancing property identification, improving service delivery, and establishing a reliable addressing system that will support security, emergency response, revenue generation, and sustainable development.
Residents are encouraged to continue cooperating with field personnel and relevant stakeholders as the State advances efforts towards the successful implementation of the initiative.
