Is JAMB a GAME of LUCK?
By Salim Yakubu Akko
It is JAMB O'clock again, and there's a surfeit number of knots that should be unsnarled so far we want to hatch a productive society where students who step on the ladder of joining tertiary institutions would be seen celebrating when results are released, thereby clearing the pavement to studying courses of their dream.
But then, before all, it is very unbecoming that we live in a society where one would be advised not to read for examination and pray for luck; a kind of society where one would be advised to choose A's from question 1 to 10, and B's from 11 to 20; a mysterious society where those who study for JAMB's UTME are the objects people laugh at in the society.
It is high time the Nigerian students, especially those that are on their way to sitting for UTME, knew that there's nothing like 'luck' in UTME; it's a conspiracy of voracious reading done by a student who prays fervently. It's undeniably true that a student cannot score above 200, 250, or the almighty 300+ by luck. All the fresh looking students you see in Law, MBBS, Nursing, Pharmacy, Accounting and so forth dedicated their time by constant reading.
Dear young people, get up! So far as you want to become a lawyer, a doctor or an accountant, as 2026 JAMB's UTME registration has begun, cover all the syllabuses in the recommended textbooks, go through all the past questions using apps like MySchoolApp and using my technique of studying past questions in three weeks, and most importantly, pray fervently. You'll certainly make it. No procrastination. It's high time you prepared. JAMB is not a game of luck . Wishing all of us the very best.

How Do I Study JAMB's UTME Past Questions in 3 Weeks?
By Salim Yakubu Akko
It's now 20 days (three weeks) to the main UTME examination, and the burning question scalding the tongues of many candidates is how to study the UTME Past Questions before the exam, that is, before the aforementioned days.
It's of great importance to bring to the limelight the fundamental significance of studying UTME past questions. It's a nature of almost every national or international examination to come up with a set of likely questions and or past questions. It's via this vein students will get to know where to thoroughly focus and how questions are asked. In its struggle for the candidates better results, past questions have beeen compiled both in print and soft versions by marketers and offline apps just for the candidates' use.
Many a candidate who has rigorously studied the past questions must acknowledge the diamond-like fact on how less difficult it was for them to crush the questions within minutes, unlike those who couldn't get chance to study them. So, it might be said to be a catalyst added to increase the speed and upgrade the scores of the candidates.
Are the Past Questions Repeated?
And, YES, UTME Past Questions are yearly repeated! Almost every year, JAMB repeats questions from past years. For instance, a question asked in 1987 can come up again in UTME 2024. It has been reported by many candidates who scored well in their UTME that they saw the past questions in their years of UTME, unaltered. I would also not deny the fact that I was fortunate to see some repeated questions in my last JAMB, of which some were from 1978, 2000's etc. Yes, including Use of English's passages; a whole passage repeated. Talk more of Chemistry, Physics and especially, Biology.
So, How Can I Get the Past Questions?
Yes, you can get the complied past questions at local bookshops or through some online apps as MYSCHOOL, Scholarly, CrushiT, Test Driller, JAMBPrep and so on. Due to the lack of time, it's advised one study the past questions using applications, than the printed copies, unless for whatever reason. A candidate can study them anytime using a system or a smartphone. Besides, it doesn't cost much to make the subscription for the activation of the apps, where the questions would be 100% available and their explanations. I would recommend MYSCHOOL App. I used it during my UTME and it helped me a lot. It provides explanation to answers, and even videos at times. Besides, it's done without connecting one's mobile data. The processes for activation are there in the app, once you download it on Google Play, it costs 1k to activate and you'll be happy for the rest of your life.
How Can I Study The Whole Past Questions Before the Main Exam?
Yes, you can study the whole past questions before the exam with the help of God and these apps, remember, I said I found it more quick than studying them using printed copies. Not myself alone, but many did realize that. However, it requires determination, consistency, hardwork, and over all, patience. Once you are not patient enough to maintain the aforementioned qualities, it'd be herculean for you to study them due to their boring nature. But if you persist, you'll surely succeed!
Each subject has 43 years, and it's expected of you to study the whole subjects if you are really serious about scoring 200, 250, 300 and above in your UTME. Yes, you can study them, but unless a timetable is formed. Here is a suggested timetable for 3 weeks, that is, 21 days. For Use of English, I recommend using the hardcopy, due to the nature of its questions. There are passages and lots more which can be better studied using the hardcopy.
21 Days:
Biology: 3 days
Day 1: 15 years
Day 2: 15 years
Day 3: 13 days
NB: This is applicable to all subjects that do not have to do with calculations.
Chemistry: 5 days
Day 1: 9 years
Day 2: 8 years
Day 3. 9 Years
Day 4: 9 Years
Day 5: 8 years
Physics: 5 days
Day 1: 9 years
Day 2: 8 years
Day 3: 9 years
Day 4: 9 years
Day 5: 8 years
Use of English: 7 Days (It's more bulky)
Day 1: 6 Years
Day 2: 6 Years
Day 3: 6 Years
Day 4: 7 Years
Day 5: 6 Years
Day 6: 6 Years
Day 7: 6 Years
Total of Days: 20 Days. You have 1 day to rest or revise where is missed.
You can do it. Just believe you can do it. There's no enemy of success than procrastination. Don't say until tomorrow, start now! You have a very little span of time to prepare your future. If you want to be a Doctor, Lawyer, Nurse, Dentist, Accountant, Teacher, Engineer, or whatever profession, this is the right time for you! I pray for you a whooping UTME score!
