Yahoo yahoo Cannot Make You Rich — CAN Chairman tells Nigerian Youths

The Northern Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. John Hayab, has warned Nigerian youths against cybercr+me and money-making rituals, stressing that wealth acquired through illegal means cannot bring lasting success.

Hayab gave the warning in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, where he condemned the rising involvement of youths in activities popularly known as “Yahoo Yahoo” and “Yahoo-plus,” describing them as acts of th+ft and moral failure.

He blamed the trend on declining moral values and poor parental discipline, noting that some parents encourage or turn a blind eye to their children’s involvement in cr+me.

The cleric cautioned that if such youths are allowed to grow and acquire power through ill-gotten wealth, they could become d@ngerous leaders who use money to manip+late society and politics.

He urged parents and the wider society to promote hard work, honesty, and integrity, stressing that Nigeria must collectively reject cr+me and rit¥al practices to secure a better future.

Tinubu Considers Dogara, Musa, Mutfwang, and Kukah as Northern Christian Running Mate for 2027

Political insiders say President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is quietly considering four northern Christian leaders as potential running mates for the 2027 presidential election.

Media reports have named former Speaker Hon. Yakubu Dogara, Defence Minister Lt-Gen. Christopher Musa (retd), Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, and Catholic Bishop of Sokoto, Most Rev. Matthew Hassan Kukah as the top contenders within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Sources say Tinubu’s team is evaluating these options as part of a strategy to balance religion and regional representation, with all the potential candidates coming from predominantly Christian northern states. Analysts note that, under the 1999 Constitution, the APC presidential candidate can select a running mate from any region.

The renewed speculation comes amid criticism of the Muslim–Muslim ticket in the 2023 elections, which drew scrutiny domestically and internationally.

The discussions have sparked debate online, with some Nigerians backing Christopher Musa, while others question prioritizing religion over competence, emphasizing leadership and performance instead.

The debate highlights the key considerations ahead of the 2027 elections, as APC strategists weigh religious, regional, and political factors in choosing a running mate.
