Ladies Connect Initiative (LCI) remains committed to addressing gender-based violence and empowering women and girls.
In 2025, we achieved a lot, and we are grateful for our volunteers and our partners.
Menstrual Hygiene Management Program Ibadan: We organized a menstrual hygiene sensitization program for school girls in Ibadan.
Female Ge***al Mutilation (FGM) Awareness Campaign – Ibadan We collaborated with Leap Africa and other partner organisations to conduct a FGM sensitization campaign in Ibadan.
International Day of the Girl Child Celebration – LCI joined the global community in celebrating the International Day of the Girl Child through activities focused on amplifying girls’ voices, promoting equal opportunities, and advocating for their rights to safety, education, and dignity.
Digital Literacy Workshop for Teachers in Partnership with Safe Net, in collaboration with Safe Net, we facilitated a training workshop for teachers on digital literacy and online safety.
Digital Rights & Online Safety Training for Students. Still partnering with Safe Net to mark the 16 days activism against gender based violence, we hosted an awareness session for secondary school students on digital rights, cyberbullying, consent, and online abuse.
16 Days of Activism Against GBV – Taraba Market Sensitisation. As part of the global 16 Days of Activism, we carried out a market sensitisation outreach in Taraba State. Traders and community members were educated on forms of gender-based violence, reporting mechanisms, and the importance of community accountability.

Gender-Based Violence is sustained by deeply ingrained beliefs: that men are entitled to control women, that domestic violence is a private matter, or that survivors are to blame.
Sensitisation directly confronts these toxic norms, creating a cultural environment where violence is no longer tolerated or excused.
In many communities, stigma silences survivors and protects perpetrators. Sensitisation campaigns create a safer space for discussing GBV, empowering communities to break the silence and stand against violence.
