How three ex-bank workers planned with hackers to steal N20bn – Witness

The trial of three former workers with the First Bank of Nigeria facing attempted fraud charges before a Lagos State Special Offences Court, Ikeja, continued on Wednesday. The defendants, Ozioma Ugorji, 35; Ugwu Emeka, 32; and Obike Chukwuka, 38, were arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission for allegedly attempting to steal N20bn from the bank.

Both leaders held a bilateral meeting on the margins of the 26th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Kigali, Rwanda. However, President Buhari reiterated his resolve to respect the maximum term limit in the Nigerian Constitution.

Petrol marketers increase pump price amid scarcity

Nigerians are now paying more for petrol despite the official price still fixed at N162.50 and N165 per litre.
Independent marketers, who started implementing a new price regime of between N170 to N190 at the weekend, insisted yesterday that it would be difficult for them to sell at the official pump price.

Governor-elect disputes Ekiti vote-buying claim

Ekiti State Governor-elect Biodun Oyebanji yesterday disputed the allegation of vote buying during weekend election. He said his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), was not involved in any unruly behaviour.

The scarcity, which started in Abuja about three weeks ago, crept into Oyo and Lagos last weekend.

Fuel Scarcity: Petrol Stations Refuse to Sell Fuel at Official Pump Price per litre

Some petrol stations have been reportedly refused to sell the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at the official pump price, N162-N165 regulated by government.

It should be recalled that the country just recovered from the importation of toxic fuel which caused a lot of damages to vehicles and machines, as some businesses were slightly shutdown, while some experienced lost and inconveniences.

It was however gathered that the situation has returned to normalcy, but some filling stations still sell between N180 & N200.

Our correspondent reported that some fillings stations along Iwo road-Olodo and Lalupon Axis still sell at the illegal price of N200, N180. Residents and commuters therefore called on the government and tax force to atttend to this issue.

A 91-year-old Professor of Law was on Thursday, October 21, named among 72 lawyers who got the new Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) rank. The 91-year-old Professor of Law, Professor Ajagbe Toriola Oyewo, who is also a traditional chief in Ibadan, Oyo State, was among the 10 academics who were in the legal profession that were elevated into the prestigious rank.
