DON'T SOURCE A PRODUCT IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS!
You have to know that we have two types of suppliers:
A Trader
&
A manufacturer
According to Investopedia:
"A trader is an individual who engages in the buying and selling of assets in any financial market, either for themself or on behalf of another person or institution."
In a more understandable explanation, a trader is somebody that BUYS a product on behalf of other business to make his or her own profit.
Relating this to e-commerce, there are many traders who put themselves forward as a supplier.
These type of people don't have control over the product quality, processing times, shipping time, shipping fee, packaging and the design aspects of the product.
They buy the product(s) from the manufacturer and resell it at a more costly fee to dropshippers.
Those kind of traders are also known as middlemen.
If anything happens, they might not be able to be of help to you and your business since they don't have control over the product production.
They usually have long shipping times and fee which is not good for a dropshipping business.
They are great for small scale businesses who wants a supplier that can ship product(s) to the customer doorsteps as most manufacturer don't ship product in unit.
On the other hand, a manufacturer is a person or company that makes goods for sale.
They are the ones producing the product so they have more control over the product quality.
You can ask them to put your logo on the product (branded dropshipping).
You can also ask for adjustments to be made to the product in terms of color, size and any other adjustments that your business needs.
The coolest part is that you can even make a whole new design and ask them to manufacture it!
One of the cons of working with a manufacturer is that they only ship product in large quantities to one specific location - usually your warehouse.
They are not great for people who don't want to hold inventory.
But the advantages of a manufacturer is far far more better than a trader.
Since they are the manufacturer, if you work with them, you have more control over your dropshipping business product quality and production.
You can negotiate for a cheaper shipping fee and shorter shipping time.
Lazy dropshippers won't get anywhere in this era of dropshipping. Gone are those days of "not wanting to hold inventory".
If you want to build a successful e-commerce business, then you have to learn how to hold inventory.
Marketplaces like AliExpress, Spocket and Cjdropshipping are the hub of traders.
Whether you will work with a trader or a manufacturer will depends on what your business needs.
The main point of this post is to enlighten you. You shouldn't choose a supplier blindly.
The fate of your dropshipping business depends on the kind of supplier that you are using. It's something worst making a sweat on it.

5 REASONS YOUR STORE SUCKS AT GETTING SALES
1. You’re targeting the wrong audience.
You may be pouring time and money into content marketing or ad spending that isn’t generating any business. If that’s the case, are you targeting the right people? Make sure you do your audience research so that your marketing is targeting the right crowd.
2. Poor quality images and product descriptions
When customers shop online, they don’t have the ability to pick up a product and inspect it. They’re forced to rely on the images you provide, along with whatever description you have.
Images and descriptions should be designed to attract buyers to the item. If you have shoddy photos or rely solely on technical descriptions, you’ll lose a lot of sales because you'll fail to generate interest in your products.
Showcase your products from multiple angles, with quality images, and create unique descriptions that show buyers the value of the products and how consumers can benefit from them.
“The reason it seems that price is all your customers care about . . . is that you haven’t given them anything else to care about,” writes Seth Godin, author of All Markets are Liars.
3. Customers don’t know what to do.
Even with an e-commerce website, you need to make it very clear what you want the customer to do on your site. Non-product pages should direct the customer using a blatant and obvious call to action. The most successful e-commerce sites tell customers exactly what to do; never leave them to guess what the next step is.
4. Poor navigation (small-tap targets)
According to SmartInsights, 80 percent of shoppers search the web using their smartphones. If your online store has tiny buttons, small product images, or a cluttered design, navigation can be incredibly difficult.
Small-tap targets make it difficult to hit the target link or button on a shrunken mobile screen, which can sour the shopping experience and send a consumer elsewhere. Make sure your mobile design is responsive, with large images and properly sized buttons.
Google recommends tapping targets and buttons that are at least 48 pixels tall/wide.
5. Zero trust factors
About 17% of shoppers leave products in their carts because they don’t think the store is trustworthy. That’s why successful websites often have trust badges, which help address concerns about legitimacy and security.
Here’s a list of essential trust badges your online store should have:
Secure checkout badge: Guarantees that you have measures in place to protect shoppers’ identity and financial information.
Money-back guarantee badge: Eliminates the perceived risks of shopping online, such as not being able to try a product before paying for it.
Accepted payment methods: The logos of major financial companies like Visa and Mastercard are so recognizable that they instantly boost the perceived trustworthiness of your store.
Free returns & shipping: Cost-free shipping and returns are always an advantage for shoppers, so use a badge to quickly let them know if this is something you offer.

Shoppers love to buy.
But they hate being sold to.
Remember the last time you bought something on amazon, do you buy it because they have the prettiest and best product or because the product actually fulfills your needs and solve your problem?
Nobody cares about whatever you are selling, they just want their problems solved ASAP!
In order to get more sales, stop telling them how great your product is.
Start telling them the solution your product(s) can help them to solve and how it can increase their pleasure and make their lives better.
