World Hand Hygiene Day is celebrated every year on May 5th.

2025 Theme: “It might be gloves. It’s always hand hygiene.”

Gloves don’t replace hand hygiene. Whether you wear gloves or not, clean hands save lives!

Hand Hygiene Tips for Everyone:

1. Before interacting with others: Wash hands frequently, especially before shaking hands, sharing food, or touching others.

2. Before eating or preparing food: Ensure clean hands to prevent the spread of germs and illnesses.

3. After using the restroom: Proper hand hygiene helps prevent the spread of diseases.
4. After blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing: Clean hands to prevent germ transmission.

5. After touching animals, garbage, or dirty surfaces: Maintain hand hygiene to protect yourself and others.

Hand hygiene is crucial for preventing illnesses, protecting vulnerable populations (e.g., elderly, young children), and promoting overall health and well-being.

Let's make hand hygiene a habit! Share this important message with others and encourage frequent handwashing with soap and water or use of hand sanitizers.
