REPORT ON ASSEMBLY SENSITIZATION: I-DRAW PROJECT

On February 12, 2026, the Blue Gate team conducted a sensitization session during the morning assembly at Ikolaba High School. The purpose of the visit was to formally introduce the Integrating Drug Abuse and WASH Intervention into Sexual and Reproductive Health (I-DRAW) project to the student body.

The students were introduced to the core pillars of the I-DRAW project: drug abuse prevention, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), and Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH). It was explained that this in-school adolescent program is designed to blend educational curriculum with social activities to foster a holistic learning environment. The project slogan, "I-DRAW: Promoting Our Health," was shared to encourage student identification with the initiative.

The team detailed the operational structure of the project, highlighting the following:

Selection: Class representatives, designated as "Project Ambassadors," will be selected in coordination with school management.

Training: Blue Gate will provide monthly training sessions for these ambassadors.

Step-Down Mentorship: Ambassadors will be responsible for cascading their knowledge to their classmates.

Supervision: Activities will be overseen by school teachers and counselors, with technical support from Blue Gate staff.

The session concluded with a call for cooperation and peer support. The students expressed enthusiastic commitment to the project goals. Following the sensitization, the Blue Gate team conducted a baseline assessment using the KoboCollect electronic platform. The visit concluded with a brief photo session and formal appreciation of the students and staff for their time.
