Celebrating 30 Years of Leadership!

His Royal Highness Emir Ibrahim Kolapo Sulu Gambari, the 11th Emir of Ilorin, marked 30 years on the throne on 10th November 2025. Born on 22nd April 1940, he is the son of the 9th Emir, Alhaji Muhammad Zulukarnain Gambari, the maternal grandson of the 8th Emir, Sheikh Abdulkadir Shuaib Bawa, and a great-grandson of the 7th Emir, Shuaib Bawa (r. 1915–1919), tracing his royal lineage directly to Sheikh Alimi, the spiritual founder of the Emirate.

Under his leadership:
The Ilorin Durbar Festival was revived, bringing royal pageantry, music, and horsemanship back to the heart of the city.

He bridges tradition and modernity, promoting education, culture, and civic development while preserving Ilorin’s heritage.

His legal background and decades of service make him a wise and resourceful leader, respected across Kwara State.

For 30 years, he has shown that tradition and progress can thrive together. In Ilorin, culture isn’t just history, it’s a living, vibrant force under his stewardship.
