NYSC AI Empowered Educators Programme – Training Report (Day 1)
On 4th May 2026, a successful Day 1 training session of the NYSC AI Empowered Educators Programme was conducted at the NYSC orientation camp, reaching over 100 corps members.
The session focused on introducing participants to the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its growing importance in education. Corps members were actively engaged and equipped with foundational knowledge to support digital learning initiatives.
This training is part of the broader Experience AI – Training of Trainers (ToT) programme, which aims to prepare corps members to become AI Literacy Ambassadors. The goal is to extend this knowledge to secondary school students aged 11–17 years across the state, promoting inclusive and early exposure to AI concepts.
Through this initiative, participants are empowered to:
Understand basic AI and machine learning concepts
Deliver AI-focused lessons to young students
Contribute to building digital and future-ready skills in Nigerian schools
The programme represents a significant step toward bridging the digital skills gap and fostering innovation among the younger generation.
