Steps to connect to the 5G network
This entire process happens in milliseconds, but behind the scenes there is a well-defined communication flow between your device, base station, and the 5G core network.

Here’s a simplified view 👇
1️⃣ Search & Synchronization
Your phone scans nearby 5G base stations (gNB) and synchronizes with the strongest signal.
2️⃣ Access Channel(RACH)
Your device sends a connection request to the network to initiate communication. 3️⃣ Connection Setup
A radio connection is established between the phone and the base station.
4️⃣ # Registration with the Core Network
The device sends a registration request to the AMF(Access & Mobility Management Function) in the 5G Core.
5️⃣
The network verifies that the SIM/subscriber is valid and authorized.
6️⃣ Setup
Encryption keys are created to ensure secure communication.
7️⃣ Session Setup
The network establishes a data session through the SMF(Session Management Function).
8️⃣ Address Allocation
The UPF (User Plane Function) assigns an IP address to the device.
9️⃣ Session Active
