On Saturday, 17th January, 2026 the Young African Leaders Initiative, YALI Network Kano held the inauguration and handover to the newly elected executives for the 2026 session.

The session was chaired by Mr. Festus Moses .festusmoses, the chairman of the electoral committee, alongside his team and the outgoing executives. It started with a formal introduction, a review of the past year’s administration, and activities of the electoral committee, followed by the oath taking and handover.

In his speech, the new coordinator for Kano State, Abdulyasir Garba II, tasked the executives to work hard for the betterment of the hub and to the best of their abilities. He added that his administration will place emphasis on the revival of YALI activities across the state. He also offered a vote of thanks to the entire YALI family for trusting him and the administration to uplift YALI for the 2026 session.

Umar Bello Galadima is a youth development advocate, writer, and digital media professional. He was recently elected as the Communication and Social Media Manager for YALI Kano. He is a multiple award winning phone photographer. He manages content strategy, public engagement, and digital storytelling across platforms. His work focuses on youth leadership, civic engagement, and community impact.
