You can be sound in doctrine and know scriptures front to back, but still lack the virtues and character of Christ.

One of the clearest signs that a man has no real point is how quickly he attacks the personality of his opponent instead of dealing with the matter. When truth runs out, insults start.

Christ never did that. He corrected the issue, not just the person. Knowledge without love just makes noise.

The goal is not just to win the argument, but to represent Christ in the argument.

Correction is a responsibility, not a license to dishonor. If God raises someone to correct, humility has to carry it. Because revelation is progressive, and there will always be someone the Lord is teaching through who may see things you don’t yet see. Proverbs 27:17 — “iron sharpens iron.”

When it turns to mocking looks or personality instead of doctrine, the message gets lost. People stop hearing the truth because of the tone it came in.

That’s what makes correction edifying instead of destructive.

I did what I always do: read the comments.
Jealousy. Criticism. “He’s not even that good. Why is he the one up there?”

And it hit me again: lifting is not only human.
It’s not always the most talented.
Not always the best behaved.
Not always the most consecrated.

Even in ministry, the names we know will tell you about greater men they met who never made it to the stage.

So who gets lifted, and why?
There’s a hand beyond ours moving in that.
